His study is not over but here are a few first learnings:

1. Attendee participation: 82% think mosts events and conferences will include large sessions in “Open Space” style formats, in which attendees will share knowledge and solve problems. Events may get interactive in the end!

2. Vote for who you want to see. The content of the event will be increasingly defined by the attendees.78% think delegates will vote before the conference for their favourite speakers, based on video previews.

3. Trade shows: small meetings rule! For 58%, open stands will get smaller and will be complemented but private meetings.

4. Virtual complements real events… As video conference technology improves, 88% of professionals think “presentations in events will be available over the Internet with a pay-per-view model”.

5. … and even substitute it a bit. 71% think “most companies will insist on staff participating remotely using 3D meeting technology (such as video visors and augmented reality) instead of travelling to events unless essential” Can you see the future?
