The percentage of women in the event industry is high. If the overall economy, women are 41% of the workforce, in the event planning sector they are 64%. But apparently, the future will be even more feminine ... Just peeking at some of the postgraduate or masters classes related to our industry, one can see a high majority are women.
This was confirmed by the Universidad Complutense programme (80% girls), the Autonomous University of Barcelona (83%), the Graduate School of Business ESDEN (90%); BCF Consultors (85%), Universitat Pompeu Fabra (95% ); IED Barcelona (89%) and the University of Deusto, in which two of the last three editions of the Journal of Organization Master Conferences, Events and Exhibitions had a 100% female presence.
Professionals and events experts consulted agree that women have personality characteristics that can adapt to the different requirements of our profession. Among the main attributes mentioned: the ability to perform different tasks at the same time, empathy, creativity and organisational skills.
