What is ‘NetZero Events’, the international commitment of the MICE industry? What do ChatGPT and artificial intelligence for events mean? Companies still far from defining sustainability targets in MICE
It is the great European event in the world of technical items for events (sound, light, audio and more). Our technology evangelist could not miss this and, like a kid in a toy store, went to browse the new features of this ever-changing world in Frankfurt. We bring you his impressions and best-of.By Alex Barbero

That Germany leads the European economy is something we all know, but it´s also the reference for the event technology industry. We talk about manufacturing and development of hardware, a sector with a turnover of 3,750 million euros in 2014… If we add the 3,800 million euros that are billed in rental in events in Germany, we have an idea the dimensions of the fair that was held in Frankfurt this past week, I have had the pleasure of attending.

This year marks 20 years since the first edition of Prolight + Sound, the fair of audiovisual technology, born from MussikMesse, a show of musical instruments and equipment. The forecast for 2016 is that MussikMesse is included in the program of ProLight + Sound.

The numbers of the two fairs together are chilling, 2,256 exhibitors from 57 countries in 10 pavilions and five areas of outdoor exposure. Amongst the participants are the biggest names in the industry staging, lighting, audiovisual, sound…

Everyone gathers in there, with even one of the pavilions dedicated to Chinese manufacturers which have their weight when it comes to hardware. And how not to talk about PRG, the audiovisual giant who had nothing less than its own hall? Each exhibitor presented their products and innovations: tables smartphone operated control systems, storm-proof lighting, LED screens with ridiculously low pixel pitch and impossible angles of vision…

Here are some of the solutions that caught my attention:

Ayrton – they presented an impressive stand where attention was drawn to its excellent lighting systems, as well as its LED panels that moved as if they were moving lights.

AOTO 1.2 showed his screen pixel pitch with a viewing angle of 160° and a surprisingly simple setup and operation system. The distance between diodes continues to fall, allowing a spectacular resolution.

eventos

SGM introduced the latest version of its waterproof moving lights with IP65 protocol. A great novelty for conducting outdoor events…

In short, the supermarket of technology in all areas of events. Irresistible right? Next appointment from 5 to 8 April 2016, Who comes with me?
