As part of the jury for this year’s WWTW, entries included technology to assist lead retrieval, housing, tradeshow floor plans, webcasting tools, attendee management tools, DMC management applications, meeting facility databases,... but the biggest leaps in technology advancement are in the many mobile applications: what you can do/manage with your computer can now be done with your mobile device.

From lead retrieval, meeting programme and details, social networking meeting professionals can access information and do many organisation tasks and connecting vía their smartphones, an advancement that is welcomed by the industry.

Virtual events are moving towards reality. From accessing information about the participants and contacting with them almost instanteously, one can even access the education programme with just a few clicks and not having the need to be there in person taking notes. But more in moving towards a pure virtual events, hybrid events are making its way into the meeting sphere.

The WWTW is the most significant and longest running technology award in the meetings and tradeshow industries. The goals are to recognize technology innovation and to highlight significant trends impacting meeting planners, attendees and exhibitors at events.
