Actividades: Cubism Cubism makes use of geometric forms to represent an object in the same plan. It is a modern art movement in which forms are abstracted by using an analytical approach to the object and painting the basic geometric solid of the subject. The representation of the world has no similarity to the real appearance of things. Cubism recreates reality through the combination of images and concepts at random. Surprise your guests with complex forms, basic schemes designed with geometrical structures, which you can apply in crockery and cutlery. Use puffs in the form of cubes and combine them with tables in irregular forms, even surfaces and matt colours. Decorate them with brownish-grey tablecloths, dark green crockery, blue or thick black and white lines carpet, which can also be applied in table linen, projections on walls, or decorative motifs. Impressionism Impressionism is the awakening of an interest for light and its application in painting. Light focuses on the main character. The new illusion of colour and the definition of objects are a result of the impact of sunlight on all things and the inclination and intensity of its rays. What we see is not the reality of things but colour patches created by the atmosphere and the light that envelops them. To create an impressionist ambience in your event, fill up the spaces with nature. Choose a garden as a venue for your event or a tent decorated with projections of colourful landscapes, or project Van Gogh-style shiny fields in thick brushstrokes on walls and ceilings. Decoration should be bright and colourful, in red, yellow, violet, blue, and a touch of white. Create luminous and fresh ambiences, with luscious flowers in red and orange. Pop Art Eminently an urban art, born in the big cities and totally alien to nature. A combination of elements such as wax, oil and plastic painting and scraps: photographs, old cloths, collages, assemblages...etc. Apply your brand in an irreverent way –like pop artists did with brands such as Coke and Campbell’s- to recreate a Pop Art-style iconography, but with your own logo. Dye the walls with strong coloured lights, such as pure red, blue or green. Get inspiration from the technique of pop collage and apply it in crockery and cutlery, as well as in table linen and in decorative elements (Campbell’s tins can make fun flower containers!). Surrealism Surrealism recreates the world of dreams and subconscious phenomena applied to art. This artistic trend comes from the most uninhibited principle of human liberty, which only emerges in dreams and it is in the world of dreams where the most common emotions, such as pleasure and aggressiveness, reside. Everything is valid in Surrealism: metamorphose, animation of the non-animated, the isolation of anatomic fragments, fantastic gadgets, empty perspectives, chaos and incoherence... Create an “absurd” decoration in your event, with furniture in atypical forms and exaggeratedly big or small sizes. Use mirrored spheres, which reflect distorted images of the surroundings, to create an even more fanciful atmosphere. Surprise your guests with an extravagant show, with fantastic costumes, weird characters and strange scenes; the eccentricity of a well-designed show will undoubtedly make an impact on your guests, who will surely remember your event for a long time.
