Actividades: Dijeridu
The Didgeridoo or Dijeridu (the traditional Aboriginal spelling) is considered a sacred musical instrument. It is made from hollow branches of eucalyptus and makes a hypnotyc and deep sound, which is usually associated with a certain hippie sensibility. Although thousands of years old, it is said that the didgeridoo really took off after the Olympics in Sydney in 2000. The technique used to play the instrument is the circular breathing and it is definitely not an easy task.
The Dijeridu can be combined with Aruma or African percussion and tribal dances from the same continent. It is perfect in a hippie-themed event, for example, together with a juggling show and decoration of fire, candles, low tables and chairs and African tea, to create an intimate atmosphere and a memorable evening...
Hang
In the form of a 50’s flying saucer, the Hang (pronounced 'hung' or 'hong') is a melodious percussive musical instrument, similar to a steel drum although the sound is generally much softer than the latter, which can be played in many ways to produce a large variety of hypnotic sounds. Developed in Switzerland, it is played with the hands and depending on the area of the instrument that is touched can produce one sound or another, like that of a gong, for example.
Hang music can be a good way to relax attendants after a long working session. It can be used as a musical accompaniment to a dinner (why not serve typical Swiss dishes, to theme the event). Its unique form will also arouse curosity apart from being a different musical alternative for an event.
Musical glasses
Also called glass harmonica, it consists of a set of glasses tuned to different notes, usually by filling the glasses with liquid to attain the pitches. The presence of water in the glass decreases the vibrational frequency. The glasses are sounded by rubbing the rim or by lightly striking them. It was said that even Mozart worked with this instrument in his time.
To achieve interaction with attendants, the musician/s can ask them to fill their glasses (better if guided by an expert hand for a successful result) to jointly create a melody. A unique entertainment for your next event!
Gamelan
A traditional form of Indonesian music involving an orchestra comprising various percussion instruments usually played at special ceremonies. The percussion instruments are wood, iron, bronze, or bamboo bars, bronze or iron suspended gongs, cymbals, drums, and bells. In addition, flutes and even human voices are used in certain types of gamelan music.
Incense and flowers are often offered to the gamelan as it is believed that each instrument is guided by spirits. It can be used as decoration on tables, at the entrance to the event, etc. to create and exotic atmosphere and help attendants tune in.
Gamelan music is an amalgamation of the efforts of many individual artists. It is a
a way of linking individuals in social groups, and is performed as a group effort so there is no place for an individual showoff. Use it as a team building activity in which the group has to coordinate their tasks in balance to create a joint melody. A creative and fun way to strengthen links among the group.
Bang, clink, tap
Entertain your guests with a show full of rhythm: a percussion show using materials that are used everyday or recycled objects to create music, such as brooms, rubbish bin lids, bottles, etc. and coordinate the sounds to make music which will shoot adrenaline up! This kind of music was created in the streets of Brighton in 1991 to catch the attention of passersby, and is now a musical style with great success all around the world!
At the entrance of the event hand out different objects to attendants to make them curious. The artists can encourage attendants to take part in the show with their own objects to create a rhythm altogether. It will surely have attendants standing up and enjoying the show! A good way to make guests remember your event for a long time.
