Actividades: T-shirts and trousers T-shirts are great marketing tools and an excellent way to easily communicate messages or slogans. Generally a common gift in events, why not turn them into decoration? They can be used as table linen, cushion, stool or puff covers, or even to upholster chairs. Jeans are always in fashion and can be very handy to create an urban decoration in an event. T-shirts and trousers can also be used as separators, that is, joining them and making them hang as curtains to separate areas in an event. Used clothes Luckily, sustainability is starting to establish as a key issue in events. Recycled materials can help make very creative (and green) decoration for events. The same happens with discarded clothes: they can be used to make sculptures or urban installations which will grasp guest’s attention. Another option is to make a canopy, seats and a DJ booth from tons of jeans and colourful shirts… very artistic and surprising, as seen in an opening night gala of Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art (see photo). Caps & hats Both perfect accessories for disguises in a themed event, caps and hats can also be very useful as decorative items. Ideas: decorate your event with statues and cover their heads with different types of hats (just like in Ascot!). It will not only be a unique decoration for your venue but an improvised mini exhibition (hats can be made of recycled materials, for example). Another option: if the venue has a huge wall, grating or trellis, hang hats just like in a cascade. Use either the same hats or different for a more colourful look. The visual impact will be guaranteed. High-tech clothes Surfing the net we have found a company that illuminates materials with optical fibre which are then used to cover furniture. The result: lighted tables and chairs with a state-of-the-art look (see photo) great to surprise guests in events. Another high-tech option for decoration: LEDs, the king of event lighting, are now also applied to clothes which can be used to cover tables and chairs.
