It is about translating a business message into a gastronomic experience. If the event has a theme, why not the food too? The presentation and the setting can help. For example, if the theme is related to technology: have food served in plates with LEDs; an innovation theme: serve innovative dishes such as vegetable yogurts, cheese ice creams, or wine sorbets; about fashion: minimalist and design plates as sushi or foie (liver). Or choose an ingredient as the protagonist for the dishes: chocolate offers a wide range of possibilities, ginger for an exotic touch, spices for a rustic ambience,…

Ecological and healthy food is what the American guide, Restaurant Runnig, highlights as consumer current obsession. And in events? Yes! To eat healthily is the maximum premise. Apart from including this food in your menu, communicate it as well. Create a mini orchard in your event where the guests can see what is the ecological food served, or organise an ecological fruits and vegetables tasting. The guests will appreciate this effort and detail.

Surprise and innovate with new ways of presenting the food, for example, on a cutting table, black slate trays, in utensils made from ice or in transparent balls hung on branches from the roof (where you can also get the participation of the public). Change the typical chocolate fountain with one of cheese and with nachos for dipping, instead of chocolate with fruits, stuffed fruits with cocoa. Let’s eat!
Turn the act of eating into a whole new experience where your guest can interact and participate. Plates can be accompanied by clues for your guests to find their food, hide them below decoration and let guests discover them. Organise a contest by blindfolding the guests and let me guess the dish just by its aroma... the prize is of course, eating it!
Another option: turn off the lights while dining and let the guests experience the food with other senses.
