Interacting with virtual technology

Actividades: Virtual sets For an event to show different places of the world (such as the presentation of products for a travel agency), climatologically different conditions in one venue or the lack of space or budget to set up several stages (for example in the reproduction of a story or a legend, or to display furniture), the virtual set can be a great solution. With a camera with sensor and a computer that gathers the sensor information, together with a green or blue chroma key, you can create different spaces. Also it is possible to incorporate video images. In order that the virtual venue matches with the real one, axes are created. And, as others software computer, programs of virtual sets are easier to use than in the past: Easy set 3D of Brainstorm, Alias Maya (animation in 3D), SGO Green Box, Natural SGO Studio, Catalyst V3 are only some examples. It can also be used to create the sensation of space and to use materials and structures which are impossible in any other way but virtually (for example to recreate different epochs and cultures such as the Greeks and their temples, or the Egyptians and their pyramids). More advantages: it is a technology that incorporates 3D graphics, easy to modify, fast to change the set, and it does not need a lot of labour for the setup and tear down. Softwares available for such effects include: Easy set 3D from Brainstorm, Alias Maya (animation in 3D), SGO Green Box, SGO Natural Studio, Catalyst V3 among others. Virtual presenters There are companies that provide tools that allow the interact with a virtual person and in real time. You can use it as an emcee for your event or simply to welcome your guests. At a press conference to give an original presentation. The virtual character is controlled by a person (normally an actor or a presenter) in the backstage, which with mini-cameras, he can see what the public does and interact with them. Oddcast commercialises the Sitepal application, Activa Multimedia has Interactive Virtual Automatic Characters (iVAC), and Interactive events offers the Toon MX tool. Interactive entertainment Solutions which you can act or move on-site such as like surfing: you can appear on the screen surfing even though you are actually not! Great idea to present a brand of surf clothes. Continuing with fashion, get people to try dresses, hats and jewellery in a virtual way by having these elements projected on you. And these can be easily set up at any POS counter. Another kind of application such as the Hypermedia Design Presentation ©, allows the user to analyse, to interact and to configure a product, besides discovering its characteristics through animated movements. They are very adapted for training events, for example, a distribution channel. Other virtual activities include golf simulators that allow playing the game indoor: the GPS Simulator of Ever Golf allows the player to hit real balls with real golf clubs in a virtual field chosen by the player. A sensor system gathers in real time information of the shot. The holography lives on! In product presentations, capture guests’ attention and impress them with holographic images in 3D instead of the real product, though the real products should always be at hand so that they can have a direct contact with the real product later. Technology such as Imagepro3d from The Special Things, enlarge the small products four times its original size. Another option: launch messages or slogans in the event via holograms. Think out of the box: do a different catering on plates with holograms. Tease the guests as they can only see and smell the aroma that it gives off. The future presentation? IVS Technologies made a presentation in Heavent 2007, a projection solution on a screen that is invisible to the audience. The effect is that the speaker appears to be moving 3D images or slides in the air as he goes on with his presentation and comments.
