Presupuesto: The budget for this event should include the following: rental of venue, cocktail (approx. 18 to 30 Euros per person). Decoration, costume rentals and entertainment are key to bring out the ambience in these events, so try not to cut them out of your budget. Programa: 20.00h - Arrival of guests. Cocktail with aperitifs complemented with oriental music. 20.30h - Product launch - presentation of your new product. 21.30h - End of program. Actividades: The Orient has a sophisticated appeal to the West. We are bombarded by words like Tai-Chi, Haiku, Sushi, Yin-Yang and Feng-Shui everyday. Though the origins and its meanings may seem confusing but yet exotic, it is still the trendy theme to have for your event. Entertainment: Japanese The best option is to construct a Zen-styled garden or decorate the venue with traditional Japanese flower arrangements (Ikebana). Get an expert for landscaping to explain or demonstrate the usage and the symbols that is behind each element used. How about showing your guests what they can do with little pieces of coloured paper? Demonstrate the art of origami! Or, the art of Japanese caligraphy... watch how each stroke of the brush create beautiful characters, accompanied by the rhythm of the Japanese drumming (Taiko or Wadaiko). Let these drummers drum in the launch of your new product...What a spectacular affair to usher in your new product! Entertainment: Chinese A brief presentation of Chinese opera, which displays colourful costumes and make up, watch the orchestra complement the smooth, fluid movements of the opera singers. Or a relax and calm demonstration of Tai-chi. Overwhelm your guests with the art of Chinese Calligraphy done on a big erected screen and an oversized brush; with the effect of a back light against the screen, watch how the brush strokes formed beautiful characters... Display your new product against a Chinese fan backdrop, and usher it onto the stage with a grand play by the Chinese orchestra. Entertainment: Korean The Taekwondo is the national sport of Korea. Contact one of these Taekwondo clubs and get them to present a spectacular demonstration of this sport - watch the clean white uniform (obok), the discipline, and the tactics of the movements... Tie in the reveal of your new product with the demonstration, it will not only pleasantly surprise your guests but will stay in their memory of what a unique event they have attended. Menu: Suggested Menu: Japanese With no doubt, sushi is the most well-known fine Japanese cuisine. Get a caterer to prepare a selection of sushis (with different types of fish), makis (rice rolls with different condiments) and explore more options with them. Japanese food also offer cooked food apart from raw fish. And of course, what is better than complement the delicacies with warm saki. Suggested Menu: Chinese Delight your guests with some of the well-known and popular Chinese dishes: Peking duck with crepes, spring rolls, wan tuns, etc. Work with your caterer for more finger-food, Chinese style! Suggested Menu: KoreanThe Korean palate has various main dishes: the Kimchi (marinated cabbage), the Kimbap (the Korean version of the Japanese sushi), the Jabche(noodles with vegetables), the Soju (rice with liquor).), let your guests savour these traditional favours... Consejos: To do a "multi-oriental" evening, allocate different space within the venue for each culture. For door gifts or souvenirs, think of typical objects: Chinese: metal health balls meant to be rolled around in the hands to promote health), Japanese: tea sets and Korean: colourful masks or traditional kites. Given at the end of the evening, your guests will definitely have a great remembrance of your event. You can also include brochure of your new product to be given away with these door gifts. Adorn your communication such as invitations with oriental motifs with calligraphy characters (hand-painted or printed) to generate curiosity and consistency to the theme of your new product and the event. Otro: Decoration: Japanese Create a Japanese atmosphere with simple elements that are typical from the Land of the Rising Sun: bamboo plants, banners with Japanese poetry (haikus), paper lanterns, etc. You can either get a classical Japanese orchestra or to appeal to a younger crowd, a Japanese pop band to entertain your guests. Dress up your service staff in kimonos and have them made up in traditional Japanese make-up. You can get inspirations and learn more about the Japanese culture in encyclopaedias, and look up in the "Geishas" section for dressing up the female service staff. Decoration: Chinese Introduce to your guests some of the Chinese's famous creation: The Great Wall, The Terracota Soldiers, The Red Book, etc. Create these images and make them as part of your decoration; you can recreate them as 3-dimensional props, or painted on panels. If your budget is limited, why not simple project these images, monuments and scenes of china to add to the atmosphere? Give your guests the effect that they are in China... Dress your service staff in traditonal costume, "cheong sam"for the ladies and "sam fu" for the gentlemen. They can still be found in most traditional Chinese clothes stores. If not simply, a shirt or jacket with a "Mao" collar! For a spice of traditional Chinese music, you can check out the soundtrack of the movie "In the mood for love" which offers a variety of Chinese music or CDs of the late Teresa Tseng, a popular singer of the '70s, Decoration: KoreanThe Korean culture is full of icons with different meanings. The Lotus flower has different representation with each different variety, animals such as the Tiger or the Dragon represent human qualities. The Korean kites is a display of symbols, which are great decoration props. So, why not enjoy this rich culture through its many symbolic representations? Decorate the venue with these colourful and unique kites, and if you are organising the event outdoors, let one or 2 kites fly!
