Presupuesto: Communication materials and decoration are important to make sure that the theme is clearly communicated and get people into the mood for the theme. Make sure you get good quality there.
Explore with the talent agency if the impersonators can do some song and dance. This can help you save some budget in hiring too many different groups of people to provide entertainment. E.g. Is there a "singing Elvis" or a "smooth-gliding Michael Jackson"?
Actividades: Decoration
Why not have a large clapboard as the stage backdrop, adorn the stage with this essential tool used for all movies to get the action rolling. Put the details of the event on it so that they will be captured in the photos and bring back memories for all present! Put details such as the name or logo of the company, the theme or tagline of the event, the date and the venue.
Decorate the surrounding areas (the lobby, the cocktail area, etc) with large posters of films. To add a dramatic effect, cut out long strips of films and hang from the ceiling down. Place moving coloured lights around to create an ambience that is not only classy but totally in line with the theme.
The entrance is also an area that you should work on... Imagine the limousines, red carpet... Place large golden stars (stickers) on both side of the entrance walkway to add more glitz, just like Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
How about giving a real star-studded welcome? Hire some actors or actresses to impersonate the legendary stars to welcome your guests and present wonderful photo opportunity... Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, James Dean, Madonna, Indiana Jones, etc... even E.T. Let your imagination runs and talk to a talent agency and have them arrange these "stars" for your night. More? Put some squares of concrete on the floor, with a "print" of the palm of the "stars" (which can be the VIP's of the event), as in Mann's Chinese Theatre, Los Angeles.
Project movie clips, trailers during the cocktail to give the guests something to chat about and provide some visual entertainment.
Tables
Decorate the table with blank and white linens, sprinkle glittering stars to add glamour to this cine event. Place printed black and white menus on the table top to show your guests what is the sumptuous dinner tonight.
Why not make it completely thematic by dining with black and white plates with silver cutlery? Break away from the usual white china...
Work with a florist for the centrepiece. We suggest using white lilies or tulips, complemented by black candles, simple and classy! Truly different too!
Don't forget to have seat covers to maintain the glamour of the evening.
Invitaciones
Some graphics that you can use to design your invitation and communication materials:
1) Ticket of a movie ticket. Just like going to a movie, you will need a ticket to enter, don't forget to put the event details on it and make the name of the movie as the tagline of your event.
2) A movie poster. Serve as both decoration and an invitation, design a poster and roll it up to be presented like an invitation. You can either personalise the poster as invitation if your budget allows and if not, add a little personalised note to accompany the poster.
Entertainment
Table games. You can also inject some team spirit building at the same time.
1) quizzes / Q & A on cine and films, movie stars gossips. Get an emcee that is animated to conduct this. Hand each table a list of questions (approx. 20) and the one who answers the most correctly and in the shortest time wins.
2) Get some audience onto stage and act out some movie scene and you can award some "Oscar" awards for the best actor, actress and give the crowd some entertainment with their own "stars".
Get into the movie groove
Hire a small orchestra to play famous movie theme during the dinner, while the guests try to guess what tune is playing and talk about the movies they have seen.
Check with the talent agency if any of the impersonators can also perform some song and dance. They can also represent famous movie scenes and, even better, personalise them to you company (for instance to the lingo of the company, to situations which happen frequently, or to characteristics of the industry…). This will be surprising and very entertaining to the employees who will also appreciate a personalised show.
For the year end countdown or the start of the dance, have a black and white balloon drop with confetti to celebrate. Select an upbeat movie theme to bring the celebration to a high.
Consejos: Get an animated emcee to host the evening. Even better, someone with some showmanship and he can transmit the glamour of the cine to all present.
If you are getting the guests to dress up as characters of the movie scenes, make sure it's well communicated and encourage them to go the limits. If your budget allows, why not give an award for the best dressed?
Check for any copyrights for screening any movies or trailers.
Have a cameraman and a photographer for the event to record the memorable moments and at the same add real props to your event!
