Actividades: Carolling... from jingle bells to deck the halls, the Christmas carols just keep going during this festive season. Instead of hearing it over the radio, why not organise a group of "singers" from the different departments and get the group to tour round the company, adding a special touch for sending Christmas greetings to all. Each department can also organise among themselves a group and have an inter-departmental contest to award the best carollers. If you are organising a special dinner to celebrate the occasion, organise a contest that the different groups can show off their talent.
If you think the singing has reached a "professional" level, the group can even go to the clients as representatives of the company to send them your company Christmas greetings. If not, you can also hire a professional group to send the festive cheers.
You can even add a charity dimension where after the performance, a collection is made where the donations will go to a charity organisation.
Christmas presents... They are something that not only the kids get a thrill, even the adults get a wide smile from receiving Christmas presents. Set a minimum budget for everyone in the company to buy a Christmas present and do a present exchange. You can assign a specific person in the company to buy for another or you can do it anonymous where you gather all the presents under the Christmas tree and choose a moment where everyone can gather and pick up a present. Give it more suspense, number the presents and let everyone picks a number from a bag and he is then given the present with the corresponding number. This can be done within the same department or inter-department.
These colourfully wrapped presents can also serve as decoration under the Christmas tree. You will see how people will notice each time a new present is added onto the pile!
Christmas being a time of giving, you can also collect presents from the employees who want to participate in a charity program. Organise a present collection program where all the gifts collected are donated to a charity organisation. You can also contact the Red Cross or the Salvation Army.
Christmas cards... Our desks are always decorated with them during this time. Why not let the artists in the company have a creative go. Organise a Christmas or Year end greeting card competition and select a winner or winner(s). You can then put them into print to make them the official company greeting card to be to clients and friends. Organise this a little ahead of time so that you have time to print and send these cards. Include in the card the name of the artist so as to give credit to the artist and a little incentive to earn some "fame" this year!
Christmas wishes... Christmas is also the time to send your greetings and wishes. Get some coloured paper where people can write their Christmas wishes or year end resolutions on it and hang them on a Christmas tree. You can even have a company logo printed on the back of these coloured papers to make it "official". Apart from adding decoration to the office and people can have fun writing on them, it can also generate interaction among the staff as they gather round the tree over a cup of coffee reading these little notes. You can also add an award to those who have participated - the most funny resolution, the most meaningful wishes, etc...
Santa Claus is coming to town... Organise a Santa Claus or Santa Maria dress-up competition. This can be done during the company dinner where it adds an interesting activity, entertainment and colours to the event. You can allocate a budget for those who are interested to participate where they can get their own materials to make their own costume and take on the personality of being Santa Claus for Santa Maria for an evening.
Talent Show... You find lots of talents brewing in the company? Why not organise a talent show during the company dinner? Let the staff choose what they want to do: sing, read a poem, do a mini skit, etc... Organise a panel of judges for the show and award the staff for their efforts. This not only helps to build team spirit as they gather to put up a performance, but also some personal and cost-efficient entertainment for the event.
