Create a relaxing mood with sofas and throw in some fluffy cushions of contrasting black and white colours. Bring out the contrast with ambience lighting and clear backlit cocktail tables. Not only do you give a refreshing welcome as the guests enter but also a creative and modern mood for your guests to lounge in. Gala dinner The main dining area is the main attraction for decoration. Play with the black and white theme with your table linens, plates and cutlery, floral centrepieces, etc, any decoration element can be a detail to complement the theme. Alternate the table linens where some tables are decorated with white table linens while other with black. You can also do this by different section of the dining area. Complement the table setting with black and white seat covers, simple white flowers (roses, lilies, etc...), and black and white plates. Add a warm ambience with candlelight. Be it small tea candlelight or tall candles, make your table decoration a talking point too! White flowers, black and white menu and program card, scatter shiny stardust to give some glitters. Entertainment Greet and welcome the guests with stiltwalkers in tuxedos and painted black and white faces. Make it funny with Afro wigs and white gloves. Why not open the entertainment with a Broadway style dance number with dancers dressed in black tuxedos and tall hats? Get the rhythm going with a live jazz band or swing band marching in? Get the performers to get dressed to the occasion of the theme... Silver platter and white gloves... Needless to say, the waiters will be dressed to the theme too. You can also work with the caterer to prepare the cocktail, chef d'oeuvres and the dinner menu according to the theme. If you have a projection screen, you can also project images in black and white (which do not necessary imply images of the past) to give the dining area some moving images on the large screens.
