It is definitely not a classic destination and is likely to still surprise your guests, but it has developped a significant offer for incentives. Glaciers, icebergs, whales, fjords, exotic Inuit culture and the sense of freedom offered by the wide open spaces are some of the attractions of Greenland. But this year, there is an extra reason to go: the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis), one of the most mysterious natural phenomenons, are especially profuse.
In some fortunate years, these ghostly lights are brighter and appear more frequently; 2010 is one of them. The weather doesn’t have to scare us: in July and August the temperatures are usually between 5º and 18ºC. In winter, things get tougher, getting down to to -35ºC. But no pain, no gain: from November to March is the best time to see the Northern Lights.

The travel agencies specialised in the Arctic have their own programmes, but almost all of them can adapt them to the customer proposals and routes. You can also include in the agenda educational visits to learn more about climate change, or train your group with orientation courses.
