This ambitious project of Seville’s conference and exhibition centre will be composed of three structural units: a 3,000 sqm roofed footbridge joining the present building and the new one; an all-purpose building with 18 meeting rooms; and an auditorium for 3,557 persons. Its three levels will have space for translation booths, a cafeteria, a cloakroom and several VIP rooms.
The building’s rooftop will include a photovoltaic solar energy plant which is expected to produce 1,400 MWh/year. This will prevent 520 tons of CO2 emissions annually.
The choice of where the building faces and the insulation systems were also taken into account, paying special attention to natural light.
Natural resources such as water, light and air will be reused and natural ventilation will replace, in some cases, mechanically controlled ventilation. This latter system will be implemented in the underground car park.
FIBES has been chosen to hold the 65th National Conference of the SEORL-PCF (Spanish Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Head-Face Pathology) in 2014. This conference will be attended by 1,500 to 1,700 Otorhinolaryngology specialists and the event will take place in this new, enlarged venue.
