Description

Opened in November 2004, the CCIB is unique in Europe due to its modern installations, capacity, architectural design, technical resources and location in Barcelona´s new seafront esplanade, Diagonal Mar, which is inside the new business and technological district named "22@", one of Barcelona´s best developed urban areas with around 4.900 hotel rooms available in its immediate surroundings and a complete public transport network.
The CCIB stands out for the divisibility of its spaces which makes them completely adaptable to all kinds of events. This versatility efficiently contributes to the success of small and large-scale event organisation.
With 100.000 sqm of space for events, the CCIB has two connected buildings: the Convention Centre, with capacity for 15.000 people and the Forum Building Auditorium, seating 3.200. Among its key features: 11.340 sqm of flexible exhibition space, a great banquet hall and 36 meeting rooms (ranging from 30 to 2.600 sqm), all column-free and with natural daylight, equipped with cutting-edge technology (WiFi and 100 Mbps Internet), and offering in-house services to cover all the requirements of an event: catering, audiovisuals, furniture, stands, carbon footprint calculation etc.

The CCIB has been the stage of major national and international events such as the Euro-Mediterranean Summit of Heads of State, the World Conservation Congress (IUCN), the Congress of Cardiology Euro PCR and many international corporate meetings. It has been awarded IS0 14001 certification, awarded Top International Purpose-built Venue by C&IT, silver for Best International Convention Centre by M&IT, and Best Technologically Equipped Convention Centre in the World by the AIPC, among other awards
