The Auditorio y Palacio de Congresos “El Batel” of Cartagena is a newer building designed to position the city in the MICE sector. It holds a total of 2500 people in its 9 halls: two auditoriums, for 1401 and 444 spectators respectively, and a large space measuring 600 m2, distributed in up to 7 meeting rooms, divisible by a panel system. A 600 m2 exhibition hall and a fully open 1200 m2 lobby comprise the building’s exhibition space. In addition El Batel offers technical equipment and complementary catering, hostess, signage, decoration and communication services.
In its brief existence, the Auditorio y Palacio de Congresos “El Batel” has hosted the product launches and conventions of companies like Licor 43, Hero, Banco Mare Nostrum, La Caixa, EDP, IBM, Repsol and Grupo Caliche. It has also hosted conferences in the field of science, such as the First DEATECNONEET National Conference, the 15th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks, XXXIX National Conference on Pediatric Nephrology, and the XVII National and VII International Conference of the Spanish Society of Preventive Medicine, Public Health and Hygiene.
