What is ‘NetZero Events’, the international commitment of the MICE industry? What do ChatGPT and artificial intelligence for events mean? Companies still far from defining sustainability targets in MICE
In a sector obsessed with stimulating meaningful networking, ICCA has often shown openness to ‘walk the talk’ and implement new educational formats and initiatives to facilitate connections. Their latest initiative: using E180’s Brain Dates solution to help attendees to their 56th annual congress find and connect with other attendees after identifying meaningful topics of conversations they could have.

Networking is often left to chance: “talk to whoever you find”, could be a summary. And the result is people end up talking to their friends… To change this, Braindate is a web-based knowledge sharing platform that allows event participants to book 30 minute one-on-one or group conversations at events. The idea is that every participant has valuable knowledge that deserves to be shared. Braindate enables each person to publicly post their knowledge in the form of 30-minute conversation topics on the market. People simply browse that market and book meetings with the people whose brains they want to pick.

Then the system’s recommendation engine defines an individualized selection of conversation topics for each participant, based on their behaviour and interests. So you know you should talk to Bill because he shares some interests with you.

Then the ‘dates’ in themselves are knowledge-sharing conversations that participants book with each other at the event. They will happen at the Braindate Lounge where E180’s Learning Concierges facilitate introductions and set the tone for open conversations.

Since 2013, braindates have been applied in several of the coolest events on the MICE planet such as C2 Montreal, Airbnb, TED, Cannes Lions and Salesforce. At the ICCA Congress, forging connections between participants looking to innovate in the event experience for participants is fundamental, and Braindates will be used for that. The ICCA Congress, taking place 12-15 November in Prague, Czech Republic, will host the record number of more than 1250 participants.
