MPI announced yesterday that Istanbul will be the host city for the European Meetings & Events Conference (22-25 February) which returns to Turkey for the first time since 2014.

EMEC has been designed with three core principles in mind: to serve as an incubator of ideas for the global MICE community, to be designed by Europeans for Europeans and to accurately reflect the host destination: its culture, history and heritage.

MPI will also soon announce a request for proposals (RFP) for destinations that want to host EMEC in 2026 and 2027.

İsmail Bütün, director general of Turkey’s Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA), echoed Van Deventer’s words, underlining the impact EMEC will have on its global MICE presence. ‘Hosting EMEC 2025 is a monumental opportunity for Türkiye to showcase its position on the global MICE stage. Istanbul has a proven track record of hosting large-scale international events, and the return of EMEC underscores our commitment to grow and evolve as a premier destination for meetings and events professionals.’
