Securing funding, finding partners, and turning a tech idea into a viable business are some of the challenges facing new companies in the MICE sector. To facilitate this process, IBTM World will once again host Ignite, a program that connects startups with investors and industry professionals through project presentations, training, and networking events. The initiative will take place November 17–19, during IBTM World 2026, at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona. Thirty startups will participate in this edition, and more than 15 investors are expected to attend. According to the organizers, companies that have participated in the program have raised 3.5 million pounds in investment to date.

What is IBTM Ignite, and how does it work?

Ignite is a program integrated into IBTM World that aims to help startups make the leap from a technological idea or solution to a project with commercial growth potential. To that end, it connects them with investors and professionals who can provide funding, expertise, contacts, or future business opportunities.

The program combines training on how to pitch projects to potential investors, live presentation sessions, and meetings between founders and industry professionals. The selected startups will receive training to prepare their presentations and will present their proposals on the Future Stage at IBTM World, where they will have the opportunity to answer questions from investors and attendees.

The goal is not only to facilitate access to capital, but also to help companies evaluate their business models, understand market needs, and build relationships that will enable them to grow. The initiative is being carried out in collaboration with Allpoints, a consulting firm specializing in business growth and mergers and acquisitions.
