In a world where technology can do pretty much everything, event managers tend to love to introduce new ways of running their process (scanning, mobile apps, and the like). Carla Luca de Tena, from Cisco, clearly had one goal in mind for Cisco Connect 2013: to avoid the queues at the entrance of the year before, and to offer smooth and easy registration for all audiences concerned; Cisco customers, Cisco partner exhibitors and Cisco employees.

Before implementing a new solution, her main points of concern were:

* What if people don´t print their badge, then queues might be larger than before?

* Will it look terrible if people are wearing their self-printed badge instead of nice full color produced badge by the organizer?

* Will people experience this as a lesser service or a better service?
