What is ‘NetZero Events’, the international commitment of the MICE industry? What do ChatGPT and artificial intelligence for events mean? Companies still far from defining sustainability targets in MICE
Within 90 minutes´ flight is this city one of the favorite of Spanish travelers. Marrakech concentrates almost 90% of the events and over 9,000 annual conferences of the country: it combines competitive prices, proximity, exoticism, warm weather during winter months and front line infrastructures. We propose you some ideas to take full advantage of this destination.

Sunrise in the desert … from above. If admiring the sunrise in the desert is a unique experience, imagine watching this show from above. Luxotour suggests discovering Marrakech from the clouds on board a balloon to see the sunrise over South Pearl. If we want more movement, we can also choose to see the city from above in helicopters and microlights.

Night under thousands of stars. Anyone who has spent a night in the desert knows the impression produced by thousands of stars filling the sky over the dunes. Dunes & Deserts organizes night tours in which leads the group into the desert to an unknown destination. This veil of secrecy begins to cause concern in the group until suddenly in the midst of the darkness appears from nowhere a camp. Some are permanent and others are set up tailor made, ranging from the highest luxury to the most adventurous bivouacs.

Poker of themed dinners. A pharmaceutical company enjoyed a macro event organized in Marrakech by Luxotour. A thousand guests arrived on chartered flights from Spain and were distributed in four hotels, where a headquarter for 24 hours asssistance was set for them in each hotel. For several days they were split up in 78 meetings rooms spread over the hotels and conference centers in the city.

A playful point of the program were the four themed dinners : Fantasy Dinner which closed the Borj Bladi complex exclusively , with batucada teambuilding , where each group member had an instrument, after the show the dinner followed. The Arab Palace Dinner was performed in a palace with room for the whole group and had several belly dancers performances. For Casablanca Dinner at the resort Pacha Marrakech , a themed dinner on the legendary film was offered, in which actors dressed as the characters of the film welcomed the invitees to ending up the dinner with the projection of the film… Of course the pianist playing “Play it again Sam” didn´t miss this dinner. Finally, a nomad camp was set up in the palm grove area with large tents, carpeted floors and Spanish fusion cuisine that one from the Moroccan desert. Guests enjoyed in the palm grove a live concert by Danza Invisible -a Spanish legendary band from the 80´s- and DJs performances until dawn.

Cobras and 4×4 through the Atlas. Adventure in its pure state … is what Imagen Límite organizes with its 4×4 tour through the High Atlas. Among other surprises, the group will meet a real aissaouia (a snake worshiper), which will show his dominance over these disturbing creatures, whose poison can be fatal, as the one of the black cobra is. During the tour, the guest will spend one night under the stars in their sleeping bags and will visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou fortress.

Escape to Essaouira. Marrakech travel agency offers a day trip to the seaside town of Essaouira to give a tour of its Medina, visit the famous harbor and enjoy a lunch of fresh fish in one of the colorful harbor restaurants. A proposal that groups tend to like in this area is the visit to one of the women´s cooperatives that produce Argan oil and carpets.

The most cultural Marrakech. Visiting the old Medina is a must for any incentive trip to the city, but why not to go beyond the touristic visit and discover its charm from the hand of a skilled artist and a good expert in the secrets of its streets? Nuba proposes to explore the Medina accompanied by well-known Spanish writers. A literary historical tour through the old Medina theguest will never forget. Or, why not to visit the old market of Bab el Khamis and Ghanen Sidi neighborhood with a Colombian designer based in the city?

The Dakar Raid ambience. Luxotour has several adventure programs to take advantage of this exotic destination. One of the most striking proposals is the recreation of a stage of Paris Dakar Raid. The group arrives by plane to Errachidia, in the south of the country, to drive their vinylated vehicles . Armed with a GPS with geo-referenced and route radio intercommunicating them, the group will be led by a Paris -Dakar racer that will give them the setpoints via the airwaves. An HD camera fixed on each vehicle record the adventure for the group to remember the adventure at a farewell dinner. The convoy will be around the Ziz Valley to have a barbecue lunch at the same palm grove. At night, hy will find a nomad camp in Erg Chebbi, with luxury tents of 25m2 with iron beds, hot showers and all the amenities.

Film and Kasbahs. Marrakesh surroundings have been the setting for many film shootings, something always attractive for incentive trips. CWT organized three days incentive trip flying directly to Ouarzazate with a meal in a nomad tent installed at the foot of the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. They visited the Salam movie studios where films as Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator have been shot. The trip ended with a dinner at the Kasbah Telouet. In its courtyard a luxurious Andalusian orchestra , belly dancers and DJs were set up.

Solidarity. In a country like Morocco we can always include a touch of solidarity. Joan Casado from CWT explains that this type of proposal makes the deepest impression on the participant. Delivery of teaching materials in schools, construction of water wells … are actions that are part of the program and add value to the trip.

Adventure motorcycling. Javier Garrido from Travel Excelsior considers this destination a paradise for bikers. For groups up to 10 people, they organize a journey through Marrakech. They are accompanied by a enduro motorcycle biker who opens the path to the group. Another one closes the caravan with his Toyota Hi -Lux PickUp and carries everything needed, including a Moroccan mechanic. The route starts with a flight from Madrid to Marrakech, and then transfer to Ouarzazate . After collecting the bikes, the group rests their first night at the hotel and starts the route on the second day. Some stages are more than 300km long and include breakdowns and sandstorms.
