What is ‘NetZero Events’, the international commitment of the MICE industry? What do ChatGPT and artificial intelligence for events mean? Companies still far from defining sustainability targets in MICE
For the fifth time, this study helps determine the level of activity of French event agencies and trends in the sector. If the recovery is on the agenda, the market will still be very demanding with tight deadlines and ROI demands. "The trend of events being less frivolous and more focused will continue in 2010.

The crisis has had a noticeable effect on the size of the events in 2009: the events of 50 to 200 people fell by 9%, those between 200 and 500 people fell by 3%, while small events (less than 50) increased by 14%. Events of more than 500 people remained stable.

France remains the origin and location of the events organised by these agencies. 84% of events are for French clients and more than 70% take place in France. Paris and its region account for over half of the events analysed. In terms of destinations, Spain is still the first destination of French events.
What is expected for 2010? Despite the lack of visibility on the economic environment, there is “a new confidence for 2010”. Half the respondents expected to grow their business compared to 2009 (this figure was only 20% last year) while 30% foresee stability. Only 14% foresee a decrease in its activity.

According to the study, in a context in which recovery is not yet assured, agencies must more than ever to demonstrate their added value and further develop solutions and be creative. The challenge: to ´reconcile organisational effectiveness and shorter deadlines, budgetary constraints and quality, eco-design and return on investment.”
