What is ‘NetZero Events’, the international commitment of the MICE industry? What do ChatGPT and artificial intelligence for events mean? Companies still far from defining sustainability targets in MICE
This year, ibtm world has partnered with EventMB to bring you the Technology and Innovation Watch Award, the longest running and arguably the most significant technology award for the meetings industry.

The 10 finalists have been selected by a panel of eight judges:

CadmiumCB: This app was designed for educational conferences and meetings as a note-taking and slide-sharing application. Since then, it has grown into a feature-rich, robust and customisable conference app with nearly everything event organizers need to deliver exceptional experiences to delegates.

EventCollab: This cloud-based event project management application has Google app integration, providing links to contacts, calendar, Google Drive and more. Collaborators can be placed in circles, with permission to share documents, manage tasks, chat, emails and track time.

EventGeek: This website and app enables teams to collaborate and manage event logistics, including venues, vendors, printing, shipping, travel and budgets. It also plugs into channels such as Twitter and Salesforce to measure ROI and boost team productivity.

Fly Another Day: The calendar-based international booking recommendation engine allows users to search where and when to hold an event so that it doesn’t clash with holidays, festivals, sporting events, trade shows, strikes or elections. It’s a simple idea but a novel one and could be of significant use to planners.

Grip: An app that uses language processing, advanced algorithms and neural networks to match people at events. It also makes it easier to meet people and make connections by integrating into other event applications and registration technology.

Groupize, Inc: This web and mobile app lets meeting planners and administrators source, book, track and manage small meetings. It gives direct communication with hotels, while implementing compliance, centralised contract signatures, enforcing preferred hotels/rates and tracking meeting spend.

GruupMeet: A fully mobilised destination management, group check-in and event communication system that fills a helpful niche for many corporate event managers.

Green Hat People: A platform used to create gamified workshops, business games and serious play for meetings and events, designed in a web UI and played on Android Tablets or Web Applications (accessible from any laptops, smartphones or tablets). The platform brings active listening and two-way communication to corporate meetings in a highly engaging way and is used to engage delegates before, during and after events.

Shoflo: The first end-to-end management software focused on the producing and technical planning of an event, where projects can be created and managed, and changes easily tracked. It allows event planners and production teams to create production run sheets, production schedules, lists and documents in real time from a central, mobilised application with changes appearing on all devices.

Visionteractive: produces social media-triggered smart devices, including photo booths and vending machines, to help organisers engage participants and broaden an event’s social media footprint. It can enhance brand recognition, increase visibility in digital media and maximise experiential marketing, event marketing and social media activity to turn data into a fun, measurable experience.

The Technology and Innovation Watch Award winner will be announced on Wednesday, November 30th at the Innovation Zone.
