What is ‘NetZero Events’, the international commitment of the MICE industry? What do ChatGPT and artificial intelligence for events mean? Companies still far from defining sustainability targets in MICE
No small feat: this group challenge by which the company´s team had to collectively walk or run around the world, got the Gold this year as best motivational event. A cool, well conceived mechanism animated by an online platform and GPS app, and convinced the team that together they could do something extraordinary,

Go around the world´, or 40,000 kilometers, was the challenge launched on the occasion of the 2014 convention of Phone House Spain to its team. This was the warm up to the convention two months later, and joining the challenge was as easy as putting on shorts, registering and synchronizing an app and starting adding kilometers. Any distance was valid, be it a walk to work, a cycling or running exercice, and all was measured and send thanks to a speedometer app, so that you could see in real time the cumulative distance.

The big challenge was communicated to the whole company in a road show, and every employee received a pack (consisting of shirt, bracelet and informative material). A microsite was also created. In it, besides seeing the odometer, the Phone House team could tell their experiencie, give reasons for running or challenge other departments.

Presented by Juanma López Iturriaga, the convention prepared the year ahead but also of course presented the result of the challenge. Josef Ajram (long distance sportsman) and the testimony of Victor Tasende (Ironman sportsman after overcoming a partial tetraplegia) infused spirit of excellence and teamwork to all employees… and it was disclosed that thanks to everyone the challenge had been successfully emt. No less than 1,500 employees, 80% of the Phone House employees, participated in the initiative.
