What is ‘NetZero Events’, the international commitment of the MICE industry? What do ChatGPT and artificial intelligence for events mean? Companies still far from defining sustainability targets in MICE
The past 19th and 20th of April took place the first edition of MeetGB at the Hilton London Bankside, organized by VisitBritain. The event got in touch, with a 1-2-1 appointment format, more than 100 international buyers with 80 British companies, among which we could find Convention Bureaus, venues, hotels and DMCs. The appointment moments were alternated with educational sessions and a lunch.

A group of selected international media could witness the precise dynamic, similar to a dance, hold by the participants. A big chronometer on the wall announced the time they had left for their appointment and once it was finished, all of them had to stand up and move to their next appointment. A little yellow flag on their tables indicated if they were available in their spare time for unexpected appointments.

Church House Westminster added the colophon to the day, and dressed up to host the participants in which is probably one of the most symbolic venues of London. Built in 1887 to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria, it overcame a bombing during the WWII in such good condition that Churchill chose it as provisional headquarters for the Parliament for the remainder of the war. In the same room where we were having some cocktails (choreography included) and could see some strongmen do their thing, not long ago Churchill gave his famous speech about the sinking of the German battleship Bismarck.

Afterwards we could have an amazing dinner liven up by live music, a magician (who made her assistant vanish) and dancers, who added the finale to an event that promises to be a success in the coming years.
