What is ‘NetZero Events’, the international commitment of the MICE industry? What do ChatGPT and artificial intelligence for events mean? Companies still far from defining sustainability targets in MICE
By Asun Paniagua Corporate Social Responsibility is integrated into this winning incentive trip of the Crystal Award to the most impactful effort for the annual Pacesetters Employee Incentive & Reward program of Optus Australia. The Solterbeck agency organized this experience in the city of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, which featured seminars, celebration dinners and a strong CSR component for the 400 best sellers of the telecommunications company.

Optus Australia has been organizing a five-day program for three years to connect, celebrate, inspire, reward and empower employees with better sales results and aligned with the core values of the company: customer focus, challenging spirit, work in team, integrity and personal excellence. The incentive trip, in addition to the educational and recreational part, had an important social responsibility activity for which Optus partnered with Habitat for Humanity (a non-profit, global non-governmental organization that works to ensure that people have a suitable place to live). Because their goal is to leave an impact on a community in each country they visit. The 400 first-line sales employees from all over Australia moved to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, where a housing and school project was chosen as the activity with which most participants identified.

For two days everyone worked together (in difficult conditions as the heat exceeded 35 degrees), people of different ages, genders and skills managed to build six houses and repair with paint two schools. Once the work was completed, it was presented to all the villagers, including members of the Ben Luc Community Council. The connection between the participants and the community was very exciting and when the six families moved to their new homes there were many tears of joy and pride on the part of the team.

This CSR activity generated a high level of commitment, not only while they were in the program but also moved to the office, translating into a new way to achieve their goals by working together as a community. This is an example of how a company uses innovative ways to create motivational experiences and maximize the human potential of teams to achieve better results.
