The Historic Building of the University of Barcelona is a unique and exceptional structure built in the nineteenth century. Listed as a Cultural Asset of National Interest, the Historic Building offers iconic spaces combining history, tradition and art, including a splendid entrance hall, the monumental Paranymph Hall, quadrangles and the Ferran Soldevila gardens.Uniquely placed in the heart of Barcelona and extremely easy to reach, the Historic Building covers more than 30,000 sq m of highly varied spaces that are of singular artistic and cultural interest.
The UB also possesses other singular spaces, such as the Pedro i Pons Estate, a sixteenth-century country house situated at the foot of the Collserola nature reserve. The house is surrounded by magnificent gardens as well as over 100,000 sq m of UB Sports services and facilities, featuring swimming pools, tennis courts, directed activity and fitness rooms, football and rugby pitches, a sports centre and an athletics track.
Additionally, the 16 faculties of the UB, distributed throughout Barcelona, provide a wide variety of diverse facilities, including auditoriums, meeting rooms, classrooms (both traditional and modern), halls and open spaces, and computer labs.
