Casa Milà “La Pedrera” has been a UNESCO Cultural World Heritage site since 1984 because of its exceptional universal value. For the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the inclusion of the Casa Milà on the UNESCO world heritage list, the Catalunya-La Pedrera Foundation has incorporated a specific area devoted to World Heritage into its Espai Gaudí. This heritage anniversary has also coincided with the completion of the restoration works on the façade of La Pedrera. The restoration, promoted by Catalunya-La Pedrera Foundation, shows the foundation’s desire to maintain and preserve one of Antoni Gaudí’s most emblematic civil buildings for future generations. Nowadays it is the headquarters of Catalunya-La Pedrera Foundation and houses a cultural centre that is a reference point in Barcelona for the range of activities it organises and the different spaces for exhibitions and other public uses it contains. Casa Milà today is a beacon shining with creation and knowledge, a great container full of content, which has a crucial role to play in the transformation of society and commitment to the people.
