The international convention centre in Barcelona, CCIB, will bill 34.5 million Euros in 2007. This figure implies a 44.3% growth with respect to 23.9 million generated in 2006. This is in line with the progression that the complex has experienced since its creation three years ago. In this present financial year, CCIB has hosted 125 events with the majority being international, with the attendance of more than 160,000 delegates and has already contracts signed until 2011.

Jesus Alvarez, General Director of GL Events CCIB, who manages the complex, said “the number of confirmed events for the next years will allow us to increase the growth in billing in 2008 and also in 2009.”

The growth in billing in 2007 is tied with the number of events hosted, which is 12.6% more than that in 2006 (111 events). Alvarez reassures that the growth margin experienced â
