The Chinese fever is also present in our industry: CIBTM (China Incentive Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition) opens today at the national Convention Centre in Beijing, with 310 exhibitors from 26 countries and over 300 Hosted Buyers from 27 countries. And it opens with good news

During the show, CIBTM (part of the Reed Travel Exhibitions portfolio), presents the findings of the latest research on the China Meetings industry, research done by The Right Solution Ltd. Highlights include the following:

– the mean duration of events in China is 5.5 days

– predicted growth in volume of events and budget per event: 64.3% of buyers expect to organise more events in China, 74% of buyers predict an increase in the volume of events they will organise and 51% predict an increase in their budgets.

– annual budget increases up to 34% for international organisers.

The construction boom in Asia has definitely reached the meetings industry: Beijing offers 4,000 venues with ten exhibition halls or more and over 134,000 hotel rooms. It attracts around 2,000 domestic and international meetings annually, of which 7% are considered as large events.

The survey can be downloaded here.

The show will take place from the 31st of October to the 2nd of November. Grupo eventoplus is present at CIBTM as the only hosted media from Spain.
