Almost two million persons has passed through El Kursaal during the five years since it opened its doors on the 3 June 1999, with a congress on technologies for materials, to the last weekend of May with the closing of the 19 Latin America Festival of the Publicidad El Sol.
El Kursaal has hosted 1,265 events with an average occupancy rate of 82% and five consecutive years with an accumulated surplus of more than 2 million Euros.
According to a study by the consulting firm, IKEI, the economic impact generated in Gipuzkoa in this step is 95 millon Euro, of which, the construction cost of the building of 60 million Euros has been recuperated. The revenues generated by the activity has increased to 12.6 million Euros and the employment generated by El Kursaal and the companies subcontracted (attendants, setups, security, cleaning, catering, etc.) is 140 persons.
Some of the achievements of El Kursaal are:
– Best Marketing Award 2003, the international award for the best marketing strategy from the marketing sector presented in Busan (Korea).
– ISO 9001 certification in 2000, the first Spanish congress hall that obtained the international quality certification for its services.
