Granada will host the International Tourism Congress in 2006 that is organised yearly by the Skal association, which are represented by all the professionals of the sector, informed the Ayuntamiento. Alhambra has already hosted it in 1005 with the attendance of 2,000 persons from 80 countries.

According to the Director of Tourism, Eva Martin, the congress will bring an “extraordinary opportunity” for the promotion of Granada. Martin highlighted that in addition to the affluence of the visitors, the hotel occupancy and the resources that attract this type of event, the importance to host congresses from the tourism sector is an “unbeatable” occasion to make the city known.
