ICCA World now has a new president following the vote held on the opening day of the 61st ICCA Congress in Kraków. The elected president was Marta Gomes, deputy executive director, sales, viparis, who won her candidacy against two other colleagues, Gregg H. Talley and Daniel Palermo. During the gala, Marta emphasized that after some difficult years we are in a good moment where there are “blue skies ahead”, but “we should be ever mindful of the challenges ahead”. In this sense, the content program of the Conference focused on the pillars of the institution, sustainability, legacy, diversity, inclusion and equity.

Apart from thanking the trust placed in her and welcoming new talent, “the young leaders of tomorrow”, Marta was open to listening to members and encouraged them to ask questions about how ICCA can meet their needs in a changing world: “It’s time to review some of the things we do, and possibly adapt what we offer according to our member’s needs”.

In addition to the new president, two new ICCA Board Members have also been added. On the one hand, Christoph Tessmar as board member ICCA geographical representative of Europe and Carina Montagut as board member ICCA co-chair venues.
