From today till Thursday in the Feria de Silleda (Pontevedra) is the X National Congress for Rural Tourism, organised by the Galician Federation of Rural Tourism Association (Federación Gallega de Asociaciones de Turismo Rural-FEGATUR) and will analysise the latest novelties of this tourism sector. The notable increment of the demand of recreational and leisure activities in the rural environment has converted this assembly in an ideal debate forum to analyse questions such as the diversification in making use of natural resources; the role the public administrations play in making the rural territory compatible with the tourism activity; the amplification of the potential areas for amusement; the strategic development that can strengthen social and economic value of the environment; as well as the increment of participation of the population that live in protected areas in the tourism activities.
