On 8 June, the Sitges Conventions is officially constituted. With this, the initiative which started a few months ago to promote and to strengthen Sitges as a destination for conventions, congresses and incentive trips has ended.

The objective is to concentrate forces and work together, both private and public sectors, to be stronger and more competitive. The Sitges Convention Bureau was formed as a program of the Patronato Municipal de Turismo de Sitges, but will have a management of its own. The executive committee was selected during the event on 8 June for a four-year term, among which are 16 founding members and representatives from the business sector. The committee will be formed by four representatives from hotels and centres with meeting rooms, one from restaurants and catering, one from PCOs, travel agencies, event agencies, etc. and a representative from the companies that offer complementary services, in addition from a representative from the Gremio de Hostelería and another from the Patronato de Turismo. The management of the Convention Bureau will be run by a coordinator who will have the support and infrastructure of the Patronato Municipal de Turismo.
