What is ‘NetZero Events’, the international commitment of the MICE industry? What do ChatGPT and artificial intelligence for events mean? Companies still far from defining sustainability targets in MICE
It is very clear that mergers, acquisitions and alliances are all the rage in our industry these days… and here comes one more! A very significant alliance which will be presented at ibtm world: bnetwork launches their “DNA” initiative, which stands for Destination Network Alliance. If we are looking to confirm trends, here comes one more: the growing importance of technology and the value of offering your own solution as a differentiating factor. Indeed, the technology platform developed by bnetwork is a key element of this new value proposition, which aims to “offer a high-end solution to create & serve with excellence the very best & most demanding of citywide & large events, in an efficient & effective way”, according to the company. They presented this new project in ibtm world. Eric Mottard

The main focus of this new value proposition is what they call “city-wide events”: large events which require hosting your guests across several hotels, making rooming management a headache. Bnetwork, which provides hotel management for some of the largest events in the world (Mobile World Congress, ISE, COP conferences…), offers know-how for this complex part of event management, which requires collaboration, synchronization & knowledge of all its actors.

Offering technology is good… but “customers tell us they also want the local knowledge on top of technology services”, says Stephane Teboul, bnetwork’s CEO. “We provide the technology for city-wide events, and they provide the local knowledge”. So they looked for a set of partners in key markets: IMS, in Vienna, Prague & Budapest; Weichlein Incentives+Tours in Berlin, Frankfurt & Munich; Destination Asia, in Singapore; Conventus in Geneva; Spectra in London & across the UK, and in Spain, PAP Congresos, whose CEO David Abreu attended the press conference. As is logical in an alliance of DMC’s, standard quality of service is an objective: “event organizers want to offer the same level of service to its stakeholders & attendees wherever they hold their event. We are able to guarantee the same service excellence across our aligned DNA partners”, says bnetwork.

The project aims to deliver “a glo-cal solution; local expertise & global solutions & possibilities” and help their clients create innovative, effective and simple solutions for large events. The company observes that “The vast majority of event organizers want to be accompanied by local experts who can generate solutions on the ground, that are on hand to easily & effectively manage the expected & the unexpected. At the same time, they also require reliable, secure & global technological support. Our DNA combines the strength of… the best DMC´s & event management companies with the most advanced technology for housing solutions by bnetwork”. The service of this alliance range from accommodation management to ground handling & logistics. Importantly, in an activity where solutions exists for other parts of the organisation work (event app, registration solutions, event planning software”, this solution features the necessary API’s to integrate the data from these various tools.
