 A full service digital communications agency, the Live Group has developed a dedicated App - Locator Function - which sets out to transform the communications experience. Locator Function is the first Indoor Positioning System (IPS) for events using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacon technology.

Christine Fuchs, Tech Watch judge and Founder of the social fox, added, “Beacon technology, mobile interaction and sharing economy were the top trends amongst the submissions. This year´s winner the Live Group follows two of these trends: In developing the first indoor positioning system using Bluetooth low energy beacon technology, tracking, finding and locating delegates has been made so much easier”.

The Live Group´s IPS Locator Function enables delegates to position themselves, locate others and find specific areas on an interactive floor plan. The technology also automatically checks-in delegates, sends push notifications to specific delegate types, captures the flow of traffic and offers opportunities for profile raising and marketing to sponsors and exhibitors.

The UK based company beat 48 other international entrants as part of the judging criteria which had to show innovation, completeness of concept, and the value of the product to the meetings industry. The panel has also awarded
