IFEMA has started its second expansion project of its site in the Parque Ferial Juan Carlos I de Madrid, that will incorporate two new pavilions, with a raw floor space of 50,000 square metres and different parking areas. This infrastructure expansion will give high versatility in the different areas for the organisation of congresses and meetings, supporting the capacity of the Convention Centre of the Feria de Madrid.

The Convention Centre of IFEMA strengthens itself as one of the main venues for international meetings, at a time where Madrid is one of the main destinations for congresses in the world. In 2003, the Parque Ferial Juan Carlos I hosted 310 events in its South and North Convention Centres, as well as in its 10 pavilions with 150,000 square metres floor space and its fully equipped meeting rooms.

In addition, the IFEMA site held 70 tradeshows last year that occupied 1.1 million square metres nett space for exhibition, where 20,732 exhibitors and 3.8 million visitors visited.

The new pavilions 12 and 14 will have add meeting rooms with flexibility that will allow the organisation of any type of event. The design of these spaces incorporates the contribution of the Institution for the candidacy of Madrid as the venue for the Olympics Games in 2012.
