If one industry needs norms and codes of conduct, it is the event sector. Problems with bids, creativity theft, agencies´ sources of income not always clear... Good news: here comes a first code of conduct.

The Club para la Excelencia en Eventos, embrio of an association of event agencies (it comprises 10 leading Spanish agencies) has edited a code of conduct, in which it states 35 principles and rules. Payment by fees, respect for agencies creativity, absence of conflicts of interest… are among the topics it deals with.

An ethical comittee will review possible complaints. Now comes the hard part: getting it applied!
