The XXV International Congress of Mathematicians will officially begin on the 22nd August, where the Fields Award will be presented among other awards such as the Nevanlinna Award and for the first time, the Gauss Award. The event will be held in the Palacio Municipal de Congresos where it will be presided by His Majesty, the King. More than 4,000 persons are expected to attend among the presence of personalities from the scientific and political world.

The Congress will end on 30th August. During the event, more than 20 plenary sessions, 169 conferences distributed in 20 scientific sessions, 8 plenary sessions comprising of all the areas in Mathematics, in addition to 60 satellite conferences organised in parallel in other Spanish cities as well as abroad.
