The Exterior Promotion Society of Tenerife, SPET, participating company of the Town Council, has just been named Turismo de Tenerife.

The Vice-President of the Corporation and CEO of Tourism and Planning, Jose Manuel Bermudez, explains that with the change of name, the society will be more competitive with wider actions in promoting the island abroad.

The SPET remains constituted as an anonymous society in 1992 by the initiative of the Island Town Council with the aim to manage the promotion of Tenerife as a tourist destination in the outgoing markets. Bermudez explains that it was committed in widening new functions over two years and has assumed new activities such as tourist information, the improvement of the destination through the dynamisation and excellence plan, the tourist investigation or the Amable Tenerife campaign.
