Valencia has increased a 6.3% in the number of meetings held during 2003 with respect to 2002. The city gained a 33.9% of the market quota with respect to cities with similira population such as Seville, Malaga and Zaragoza. The 605 meetings held in Valencia in 2003 represent 50.1% of all the meetings held in these mentioned cities, comparing with the 34% registered in 2002.

The number of participants to the said meetings increased 8.7% in Valencia, against a reduction of 1.1% in the thirty eight Spanish cities.

The city also increased its average attendance per meeting by 2.4% in 2003, compared to a reduction of 7.4% in Spain and 1.3% in the respective cities of the same population.

With reference to the type of meetings, the attendance to conventions in Valencia increased 40.3% with respect to 2002 and has been the main motor of global increase in attendance to meetings in the city. The congresses increased 11.3% and the meetings/sessions 15.7% with respect to the same period of the previous year.

The preferred month for meetings where meetings were held was in May and November, which represent, respectively, 15% of all the meetings held in the city.
