Throughout 2004, Valencia registered 661 meetings (56 more than in 2003), that is an increase of 9.3% compared to last year. The growth in the number of meetings, which had 147,862 participants, confirms the increasing weight of the congress market as a whole for the tourism sector in the city of Valencia. Proof of this is that 2004 was the twelfth consecutive year with a positive growth in number of meetings with a the new historic maximum. The Congress and Convention Centre held 134 events, 82 of which were congress, convention or working session.
