The sector has evolved: we are no longer just looking for destinations, we are creating ecosystems. Valencia will host Sports & Events Europe in 2027 thanks to its multimodal infrastructure, which connects venues such as the Palau Velòdrom Lluís Puig, also key for the European Short Track 2027, with networking spaces such as La Marina or new multipurpose venues such as Roig Arena, supported by a large hotel plant. He also highlights the logistics of the destination; the experience accumulated in major events has generated a local network of suppliers that “speak the language of the event”.
An event as a catalyst for investment
More than 750 international sports tourism professionals are expected to attend the 2027 edition. The real value lies in the profile of the attendees: hosted buyers with decision-making capacity for major world circuits, travel managers of clubs and federations, incentive agencies seeking sportainment for corporate clients and specialized DMCs that internationalize the national product.
The event will act, once again this year, as the B2B meeting point that will bring together supply and demand in the world of sporting events and travel. In addition, the event’s structure of sporting, cultural and social activities means that attendees will see the city in action first-hand, while negotiating tangible projects with each other.
The Councilor for Tourism, Innovation and Investment, Paula Llobet, has highlighted the importance of this meeting:
“Valencia’s link to sport is present all year round. The celebration of Sports & Events Europe will reinforce the image of our city as an international sports destination and a reference venue for experiences linked to sport.”
