Barcelona has much to offer to the 14,000 visitors expected to attend EIBTM 2010, but EIBTM respond generously too: an estimated economic impact of the leading trade fair exceeds 40 million euros for the city.

EIBTM, the leading event worldwide for meetings and events industry, brings to its host over 14,000 people wanting to enjoy the city, not everything can be working and it would be impossible to resist the attractions of Barcelona … and to the dozens of events organized by exhibitors and sponsors.

The economic impact of these big events is always important, but not just about the financial outlay before, during and immediately after the event, but also the effect is generated, which is not always quantifiable: fame, prestige, which means get more conferences in the future as a result of good experience with the audience.

To EIBTM also likes matching: much of the training programs are conducted in Spanish and will focus on those issues relevant to the industry in Spain: this year there will be seven sessions in conjunction with MPI Spain, Korazza Consulting and ICCA on issues like the power of coaching, creative catering, event trends in communications, technology affordable, key factors in the acquisition and retention of members, creativity in the organization of events, and finally “And Now Where Do I Work?”.

Moreover, Reed Travel Exhibitions, aware of the impact that an event of this magnitude has on the local community, will partner with the Catalan Federation of Social Volunteer, Voluntaris. Also, in its commitment to sustainability,  the new initiative EIBTM Green Team will debut with the purpose to reduce waste after the event by request to the exhibitors to donate materials or products generated during the fair. All of these items (from brochures to stands) will be donated to organizations working on neighborhood projects in Barcelona and the International Red Cross.
