This great idea will allow you to suffer a little less for the amount of water bottles consumed in your event. It's not just about recycling them, but about seeing how hundreds of them are half consumed. This Spanish NGO, the first with the Social Enterprise Mark certification, proposes you Auara, a mineral water from a spring, in León, which invests 100% of the dividends generated with its sales in developing projects for access to drinking water in developing countries. They are also the first bottles in Spain made of 100% R-Pet plastic.

There are several reasons for choosing to supply your event with water from Auara: for example, the design of the bottle has taken into consideration the search for cubic efficiency to optimize transport. The result is up to 20% more bottles per pallet than a traditional format. Another detail: to reach all kinds of consumers, the bottles have a braille reading system for people with reduced visibility.

Another good reason is water quality. Coming from the Carrizal II spring in León, its extraction from aquifers and springs is strictly controlled, checking the natural replenishment of water to avoid depletion of natural resources. Its mineral composition has its own stable characteristics that remain intact, thanks to the underground origin of the water. In addition, water is not subjected to any type of chemical or thermal treatment, it is completely natural.

With the benefits of its sale, Auara carries out various projects based on access to drinking water, sanitation and agriculture, which can lead to up to 80% less disease, an increase in child schooling, greater independence of women, access to hygiene and the reduction of famine. For example, it is the case of Tamarou, an extremely poor area, in Benin, in which it collaborates with Manos Unidas, which will benefit 500 people.

One of the fundamental differences when selecting social projects is their development model based on local partners, which fosters social roots in the community and the certainty of a long-term permanence that guarantees the monitoring of projects and involvement of community members in their maintenance. At www.auara.org, you will find all the information about the projects they develop. Complying with their total transparency policy, they publish the costs of the projects, their execution status and their monitoring and, in addition, consumers can know with certainty which projects they collaborate through the QR code printed on the bottle label.

At the beginning of 2016 Auara received the prize awarded by ETSAM for their initiative to support the entrepreneurial spirit of young architects. In March 2016, they received the 2016 Programa Crece award, promoted by UnLtd Spain and EDM ONDE ROTHSCHILD FOUNDATIONS, which selects high-impact social entrepreneurship projects; the Climate-Kic Accelerator 2016 Programme award for economic and training support for the best start-ups that mitigate climate change. Also Auara received an award given to the packaging of their bottle at the 2016 IPA Awards for their efficiency and sustainability.
