After two years, this will be the recovery edition, although without neglecting the important sanitary measures and protocols to guarantee safety during the three days of the fair. Under the theme 'New businesses, new technology, new world', this long-awaited meeting that brings together the global professional events industry will once again be held in person, from November 30 to December 2 at Fira Barcelona. And two months before the event they have already confirmed some of the world's best-known destinations and providers. By Asun Paniagua

The organizers of IBTM World Barcelona, Reed Exhibitions, say that there are a large number of exhibitors already confirmed, although we still have no way of comparing it with previous editions. We will see this a posteriori, once it has been held and we know exactly how many people participated, both exhibitors and visitors. Among the regular exhibitors at the fair that have already been confirmed are Dubai Tourism, Atout France, Germany Convention Bureau, Rwanda Convention Bureau, Meet in Ireland, Istanbul Convention Bureau, Cyprus Convention Bureau, Hungarian Convention Bureau, Norway Convention Bureau, who will attend with 18 partners, Croatia Convention Bureau, Lithuania, Turespana Convention Bureau (Spain), Czech Republic Convention Bureau, Hilton, Titanic Hotels, Hyatt, Basquetour and GL Events. Sardinia will attend IBTM World for the first time and join the Polish Z-Factor technology pavilion, which provides software solutions for many of the major hotel groups.

In the 2021 edition, exhibitors will be able to count on Reed Exhibition’s internal stand design and construction team, SmartSpace, to create spaces that adapt to health, safety and physical distancing measures. SmartSpace will work in collaboration with exhibitors to help their stands have a high return on investment and participation from visitors during the fair.

“As a consequence of the pandemic, some difficulties have arisen in finding stand builders with availability, so SmartSpace is a way to solve this. We have been preparing for the reopening and all the stands comply with the prevention measures against Covid. We have a team of designers who can advise exhibitors so that their stands are attractive, sustainable and safe, and ready for when they arrive at Fira de Barcelona “, explains Ross Curran, director of SmartSpace.

“Good exhibitor sales show that there is a real appetite to return to events. People clearly want to meet face-to-face again as soon as possible and get back to work, and we are delighted that many exhibitors are returning with larger booths than before, and some with additional booth partners. “We have put in place strong security measures for IBTM World Barcelona and we are looking forward to meeting many of our friends and industry colleagues at the show,” said David Thompson, Reed Exhibition Director of Events.
