This 5* urban resort in Barcelona, which was opened for the 1992 Olympic Games, gets a lifting and fully renovated its facilities. The hotel, which is now managed by Fairmont and which hired new CEO Franck Sibille, aims to reposition as one of the very best 5-star hotels in Barcelona, both for MICE and corporate clients as for leasure ones. To give the hotel this exclusive personality, the design studio Richmond Design Hospitality, in London, which has extensive experience in hotels decoration.

The hotel will not close during the renovation. So that clients are not affected by the renovation, work will be done in two phases: phase 1 (October 26 until late February 2016): Remodeling of the lobby and common areas. 2nd phase (from March 2016 through July 2017): Renovation of the sleeping rooms.

Its capacity will not change: it offers 432 rooms with views to Barcelona, 24 meeting rooms and an executive floor with 32 rooms, suites and an executive lounge; as well as its famous gardens in which to hold events. The hotel also offers Royal Catering, its high-gastronomy external catering service. The Palau de Congressos de Catalunya, part of the complex, will continue its operations with no interruption.
