Innovation is alive in the events industry. IBTM World focuses this year on the subject of technology and how it can improve every aspect of the production of major events. This is demonstrated by the large number of participants in the edition of the IBTM Tech Watch Award 2018, which point to emerging technology trends in events such as facial recognition, artificial intelligence, advances in analysis and measurement, new options for electronic posters, creative alliances based in the cloud ... important contributions for the advance of the MICE industry.

A panel of recognized experts from the event and technology industries have rated the nominations based on criteria such as innovation, the concept or business model and value for the MICE industry. The Tech Watch award is one of the most valued awards in the industry, and this year, the nine finalists are: Kubify, an interactive poster system; Cadmium CD, a resource management and meeting room scheduling system and a logistics event management platform; Radario, a platform for analysis and marketing of events with artificial intelligence; Event Tech Tribe, a technology product marketing group for cloud-based events, including Hubb, which provides a dating and application management system, and MeetingSelect, a site-sourcing site; Zenus, Inc and Fielddrive, facial recognition record; Spacebase, which offers direct booking of a meeting space; IVvy, a system of direct booking of meeting spaces for hotels; SpiceFactory, an intuitive chatbot and speaker management system; and Eventfolio, a multi-event management system.
